Thalidomide Raynards

Thalidomide is the after-effects of a prescribed drug given to women who were
pregnant and suffering from morning sickness. Taking this drug caused babies to be
born without fingers, “Photo of my hand” toes, hands, feet, all the way to complete
limbs, it also caused a lot of internal problems. This effected thousands of babies born
between the late 50’s early 60’s in England, Europe and America before it was
withdrawn. Even though most of the doctors I have seen have said what I have is
thalidomide I don't have any positive proof it is thalidomide or my mother was given the
drug this is why I have never received any compensation but at the end of the day i
would rather have my fingers and health.

Raynard’s / Raynauds’ Disease.

All i can really say about Raynard's / Raynauds’ is the effect it has on me when there is
a change of temperature or it is cold i lose nearly all the blood flow to my toes and
fingers to the extent were there is a very visible line were the blood stops and they go
completely numb well not completely as i feel the pains of freezing cold numbness
which even though is painful it is bearable the problems start when they start getting
blood back to them the pain is absolutely excoriating and lasts for hours it feels like
tens of thousands of small explosions going of in my freezing hands, feet which makes
them completely useless for hours. These are the things i do to try and stop the attacks
1. put thermal insoles in all your shoes 2. thermal under wear their are some that are
very good and which don't look to bad (that's what my misses says especially the skin
tight tops) get them from good camping shops. 3 a hat the reason being when it is cold,
the body starts to shut down unessential parts of the body, what the body is doing is
protecting the heart so you need to fool the brain in to thinking it isn’t as cold as it is
hence the thermals also wear a couple of layers of loose fitting clothing. the head is
one of the places were you lose most body heat hence the hat. cold floors drain the
feet of heat. If you have an attack don't put you hands / feet on anything hot or anything
that gives off direct heat “ anything with a flame” this will make the warm up process
take longer put your hands / feet into tepid water and very gradually put warmer water
in this wont help with the pains. you still get them, but they are over a lot faster.
